La Aguada, the world-renowned polo club owned and run by the Novillo Astrada family, announced several changes to their 2017 season, presented by Rio Uruguay Seguros.
The Julio Novillo Astrada Cup, one of the highlights of the La Aguada season, has been raised from a 20-goal tournament to 22 goals and will take place October 16-27. The La Aguada Spring Cup, which takes place November 26-December 1, has been raised from 12 to 14 goals.
New to the La Aguada season is the second annual Argentine Amateur Championship, which made its debut last fall. The tournament will have two levels, one for 0-4 goal players and one for 4-8 goal players, and will take place October 14-22. Amateur players will have another opportunity to play in the 10-goal La Aguada Challenge, a tournament that will showcase only one professional player per team.
La Aguada will also continue to welcome players from Cowdray Park Polo Club and Guards Polo Club for the 16-goal La Aguada Cowdray Park Polo Trophy and La Aguada Guards Polo Trophy.
