The XI FIP World Polo Championship got off to a fantastic start, with guests from all over the world gathering at Sydney Polo Club for the first round of thrilling polo and entertainment.

The first game of the FIP World Championships saw Argentina overcome Team USA 12-9 ½ over six chukkas on the opening Saturday, and the second game at Sydney Polo Club had hosts Australia beat Spain 10-9 after a golden goal in extra time to kick off their campaign on home soil. England announced their presence at the Sydney FIP World Championships on Sunday with a resounding 16-1 over India, and reigning champions Chile displayed their pedigree with a hard fought 9-2 victory over New Zealand on Sunday afternoon at Sydney Polo Club.

The action continues tomorrow, as Spain and Argentina battle on the Supremo field in the morning and Australia will be hoping to maintain their momentum as they take on the USA.
Outside of the polo, there are lots of other interesting activities throughout the next couple of days. TAFE NSW are hosting talks in the Equine Education Centre all week, with the Australian Sport Anti-Doping Authority speaking from 10am and Georgia Higgins of Sydney Polo Club speaking at 3pm about Woman in Polo.
