Both of Saturday’s games in Palermo were massacres: La Dolfina splattered La Irenita all over the field (21-4), and La Albertina Abu Dhabi smashed La Esquina Los Machitos 17-8. Enough said there. -La Dolfina’s third straight win with scores of 20-plus goals per game.
-All 4 players scored: Adolfo Cambiaso (8), Juan M. Nero (7), Pablo MacDonough (3), David Stirling (3)
-La Albertina’s first win in the tournament.
-La Albertina improved their chances of qualifying directly for 2018 Palermo.
LA ESQUINA LM
-La Esquina LM did not qualify for the 2018 Triple Crown.
-La Esquina LM eliminated from 2017 Argentine Open.

Both of Sunday’s games also have significant consequences:
Game 1 (2 p.m.): La Dolfina Polo Ranch v. Chapaleufú is a matchup of winless teams, so the stakes are the same as yesterday’s La Albertina vs. La Esquina game, with both teams trying to secure positioning for next year.
Game 2: (4:30 p.m.) Ellerstina needs to beat Cría Yatay to eliminate Cría Yatay and set up semi-final matchup with Alegría (both teams would be 3-0).
All times are local. Buenos Aires is two hours later than the U.S. Eastern time zone.
